Dedicated to the world of puppetry arts, the international festival LES TROIS JOURS DE CASTELIERS is back for an 8th edition!
Presented in collaboration with the Théâtre Outremont, the festival will showcase large scale spectacles and intimate performances alike, traditional techniques, as well as cutting-edge technology.
From March 7 to 10, 2013, the festival will host puppeteers from France, the Netherlands, Scotland, Ontario and Quebec. The festival program features ten shows – five for family audiences and five for adult audiences. Landmark performances and recent works are on the menu with performances by world famous companies as well as up-and-coming puppeteers. Creative women are at the heart of this year’s offering: playwrights, directors and designers as well as puppeteers and performers.
Several outreach activities are also scheduled, including an exhibition of famous Canadian puppeteer Ronnie Burkett’s puppets, the screening of the documentary film LE TEMPLE DE LA MARIONNETTE and the short film DRENICA, a roundtable and puppet making workshops for children and adults. Details available soon on line.
Actor, director, teacher and puppet affectionado Carl Béchard is once again the festival spokesperson.
Casteliers is a cultural partner of the Outremont borough and is also proud to partner with many presenters such as OBORO, Place des Arts Junior, Les amis de la montagne, Côté Scène (Sherbrooke) and Calgary’s International Festival of Animated Objects.
We look forward to seeing you in March!
