Christophe Loiseau has been working as a photographer in the field of puppetry for 20 years. For this new series, he travelled around the world to meet puppeteers and create their portrait in the environment where they live, work and perform. Each picture is the result of a long process which always starts by a get-together in which the photographer and the artist develop an image that will then be the basis for the photo’s staging. His pictures are portrait-stories that divert the puppeteer’s universe away from the stage.

Produced by the World Festival of Puppet Theatres in Charleville-Mézières (France).

This exhibit is presented with the support of the Fonds franco-québécois de coopération décentralisée.
