Welcome to Disgraceland, a mythical mansion where the master of the house—the King himself—staggers between life and death as he navigates a grey zone that is all too bleak for eternal rest. In a kaleidoscopic universe where appearances are deceiving, four housemaids huddle around a fallen Elvis as he prepares to perform his final concert.

An epic adventure in which Elvis Presley is transported to a surreal world that questions the making of icons and our collective need to create immortal beings. – L’Hebdo Journal

Les Tables Tournantes, a collective composed of Joanie Fortin, Mylène Guay, and Iris Richert, explores the iconoclastic through puppetry. After completing a graduate diploma in contemporary puppet theatre at UQAM, they went on to create their first short piece, Graceland, which was presented at a number of festivals, followed by Elvis-Jukebox, in which the character is taken to another level, and finally Disgraceland, the closing episode in this outlandish series! With their next creation, Croyez-vous aux fées? (Do you believe in fairies?) Les Tables Tournantes revisits the collective imagination, hijacking symbols and clichés so as to challenge power dynamics and entrenched narratives.
