What a calamity for the Mergerac family: the little prince is born without a nose! Deemed unworthy of his royal lineage, the heir is abandoned in the woods where he grows up among the woodland creatures, meets a princess and decides, in the name of love, to head out on a quest for the precious missing appendage. On his way, he meets two gifted but foolish carpenters who also dream of being loved despite the fact they are different. In this tender wooden universe, Bynocchio’s soul frolics on whittlings of laughter …
Serge Boulier has been presenting puppet shows for children and adults since founding Bouffou Théâtre in 1986. With a touch of humour, poetry and irreverence, his productions question the contemporary world and open new doors to “potential elsewheres”. Here, the art of puppetry opens a whole new field for playfulness experimentation, where actors and objects evolve in the most unlikely and inventive set designs.
This show will also be performed at the Maison de la Culture Maisonneuve on March 4 and at Place des Arts Junior on March 9.
This tour is organized with the support of the French Consulate General in Québec City (Service de Coopération et d’Action culturelle).
