Casteliers, Puppet Animation Scotland and Magnetic North have partnered together to offer a creative residency to two professional puppeteers from Québec and Scotland, Flavia Hevia and Gavin Glover. This project, aimed at fostering collaboration between organizations and artists that combine theatre, puppetry and stop motion animation, builds on everyone’s particular expertise as a way of encouraging knowledge sharing and the creation of new works.
The two puppeteers will be in Edinburg from January 20-31, 2020, participating in the “rough mix” residency led by Nicholas Bone, artistic director of the Scottish company Magnetic North. This residency will be followed by a presentation at the Manipulate festival, held from January 31 to February 8, 2020.
They will be in Montréal from February 17 to March 8, 2020 to continue their creative collaboration and present a second stage of their work at Festival de Casteliers.
This creative residency is made possible thanks to financial support from the Québec ministère de la Culture et des Communications, the British Council and the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
