Marionnettes: Art and Tradition—Micheline Legendre’s private collection From March 2 to 6.
As a countermelody to the Marionnettes en vitrines! walkabout exhibition, Casteliers presents a selection of magnificent puppets from Micheline Legendre’s private collection, which she accumulated over many years during her travels and her encounters with great masters.
You will find well-known characters and anonymous figures, finely crafted marionettes and naively sculpted figurines. Every puppet in the collection bears witness to the world’s rich puppetry heritage, whether sacred, traditional or theatrical.
Both this exhibit and the Marionnettes en vitrines! walkabout exhibition were made possible thanks to the generosity of Micheline Legendre’s estate and the collaboration of the Maison internationale des arts de la marionnette (MIAM).
