Short piece for all audiences, 10 years +
Presented as part of an evening of short pieces
Juan is alone on stage with several puppets for a gritty and mischievous performance that is his darkest and most personal creation. Hamster is more a performance than a play. The piece consists of the artist’s improvisations based on contemporary writings and psychedelic poetry, performed with compelling and expressive paper puppets.
RUNNING TIME: 20 minutes
TECHNIQUES: Body and Table-Top Puppets, and Live Music
Originally from Argentina, Juan Perez Escala has lived in France for the past 15 years. He founded Singe Diesel in 2011 in Brittany. His work is inspired from his childhood spent running around the streets of Buenos Aires and combines many different artistic disciplines. It invites us to question and surprise our relationship with both the real and imaginary worlds.
