Short piece for all audiences, 8 years +
Dominique sees life through rose-coloured glasses. Before dying, she donates her eyes to science. Science finally discovers that life is beautiful.
Inspired by magical realism and flash fiction, two popular literary movements in South America, Juan Perez Escala created Kazus. A combination of different poetry styles – visual, puppet and musical – Kazu Libre is the short version of the original show.
I want to create a show where I’m most sincere with the audience, by telling them stories that seem like poems, but aren’t; that seem like haikus, but aren’t. They aren’t jokes or tales either. I called them Kazus.
– Juan Perez Escala
Running Time: 15 minutes
Techniques: Table Top and Full-Body Puppets
Company
Singe Diesel is a puppet theatre company founded by Juan Perez Escala in 2011 in Finistère, Brittany (France). The company presents shows, organizes workshops and hosts an annual festival dedicated to puppetry.
At the crossroads of fantasy and wonder, Singe Diesel’s work questions and surprises how we think about what is real and what is imaginary.
