For all

Marionnettes en vitrines! is brought to you by Realta

From February 10 to March 8, 2020

The Marionnettes en vitrines! walkabout exhibition showcases puppets by Louis Bergeron and his company Marionnettes du bout du monde, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year!

After earning a degree in visual arts at Université Laval and acting in the amateur theatre company Troupe des Treize, Louis Bergeron founded his own company in Québec City in 1980, which is committed to addressing social issues: Marionnettes du bout du monde. Louis Bergeron writes and directs all his shows, working closely with a team of collaborators who build the puppets and sets, create the costumes and compose the music. A veritable one-man band, Louis performs alone on stage: acting, manipulating and playing all the characters, singing and controlling the lighting, all the while engaging with the audience! He has crisscrossed Québec since 1980, from north to south, from the Abitibi region to the Magdalen Islands, stopping in every region of la Belle Province. He has produced 31 shows which have been presented over 6,500 times, including during tours in France, Belgium, the Ukraine and Haiti.

The exhibition showcases puppets made by Zoé Laporte. May Rousseau, Andrée Tremblay, Natalia Poliakova and Louis Bergeron.
