Young audience, 10 years +
What if, in order not to forget who we are, all we had to do was. . . play?
Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass, Une Traversée tells the story of a young girl who transforms the ruins of her home into an extraordinary playground. Along with her kitten, she invents fantastical stories that help her come to terms with the war-torn landscape, turning survival and despair into a game in which empowerment leads to growth
A game meant to keep you from falling into despair, to make sure you never forget your name and where you come from. A game in which one must participate, even as a pawn on the great chessboard of life, even if it would have been better to be the Queen. Seen through her eyes, the show explores the mechanisms of imagination and consciousness, revealing how they are activated to resist the absurdity and madness of a world torn apart by conflict.
Natacha Belova and Tita Iacobelli use puppets and objects to immerse the audience in a world where childhood becomes a life-saving weapon against the manipulation of words and the domination of harmful ideas. A child’s-eye view of an absurd world torn apart by the idiocy of war.

Company
Internationally acclaimed, Compagnie Tchaïka was established when Chilean actor and stage director Tita Iacobelli met Belgian-Russian puppeteer Natacha Belova. In 2015, they created an experimental theatre laboratory in Santiago dedicated to contemporary puppet theatre, which led them to produce their first show, Tchaïka, followed by LOCO, which delighted audiences at the Festival international de Casteliers in March 2024. Une Traversée (2025) is their latest creation.
