Without words

Through a sequence of poetic images that come to life at the heart of a landscape of forest and water, Âme nomade sketches multiple portraits of its principal character by varying both scale and materiality, evoking all of her inner dimensions.

Inspired by the spirituality of indigenous people, where the quest for consciousness and a connection with nature are the very essence of life, the wolf-guide and the raven-conscience symbols encounter a woman’s many essences in a breathtaking journey to the heart of the intimate self.

RUNNING TIME: 55 minutes

TECHNIQUES: Masks, Puppets and Projections

Magali Chouinard is a multidisciplinary artist. The female body, movement, presence and interiority lie at the heart of her poetic and visual research. Thirty years of exploration – drawing, sculpture, installation art, performance and writing – have been converging since 2008 towards the art of puppetry and its ability to bring movement to her visual landscape.
