Part of the Café-causerie: Budding creations! Event

Three theatre companies present their works-in-progress and answer questions from the public eager to learn more about the various stages involved in the development of a puppet show.

A green leaf in search of its branch, pieces of wood that come together to form strange creatures, some hostile, some comical… A curious world that surprises, amazes, and inspires. A world that also makes you think and wonder.

In keeping with its artistic approach, Puzzle Théâtre is once again drawing inspiration from a whole new medium to create an atypical, colourful puppet show, full of humour and unexpected situations.

TECHNIQUE: Puppets created from pieces of wood

Founded in Bulgaria and established in Montréal since 2004, Puzzle Théâtre has its own unique style that draws from many different theatre genres, namely object, puppet and actor theatre. Puzzle Théâtre built its reputation through its colourful combination of styles and the great diversity of its means of expression, choosing to allow the audience the freedom to interpret unspoken meanings, to freely associate ideas and to feel what is not explicitly stated. Puzzle Théâtre has performed across Canada, in Europe and in Asia.
