Welcome to my bric-a-brac collection!

Follow the strings, the cord, the footsteps.

Enter the white tunnel sandwiched between black and black.

Observe the little drawings that tell the story of my creative work.

Take a walk with a line.

Have fun looking at my objects and curious characters.

Go where the arrows take you.

You’ll discover a world full of stories to invent.

Make up your own and allow your imagination to transport you!

That’s what I like best: creating images and stories and telling them to you.

For over 20 years, artist Sylvie Gosselin has pursued an approach that fuses her two fields of interest. A storyteller and tinkerer, she seeks to touch the hearts and imaginations of children, young and old, with theatrical offerings composed of her painting, puppets, and installations. Based on themes of memory, transmission, and the power of art, she creates atypical and unusual works.

This exhibit is a reflection on her creative process and on the evolution of her artistic language through her production: La couturière, imbued with white and gentleness; Contes Arbour, with the secrets and mysteries of the life cycle; Histoires d’ailes et d’échelles, playful and poetic, inspired by the works of Paul Klee; and finally, Renard Doux, which recounts, with paper artifacts, the relationship between a child and her granny, Mamou.

Cheminer entre le théâtre et les arts visuels also explores the artist’s creative journals, recounting in words and drawings her research, doubts, reflections and, at times, the euphoria of the creative process.
