Théâtre à Bout Portant (Saguenay)
Part of the Café-causerie — Budding creations! event
Four creative teams present their works-in-progress.
The story takes place in a wartime detention camp where a guard watches over a prisoner as she is forced to sort, mend and wash clothes. Little by little, the laundromat transforms itself and reveals the story of countless prisoners in their hazardous journey towards death. A troubling world created through an improbable combination of poetry, humour and horror.
Théâtre à Bout Portant is engaged in creating works at the crossroads of a number of disciplines, combining physical theatre, manipulation and choreography. Dynamic and imaginative visual landscapes serve as a backdrop to the sensitive issues they raise. From its very beginnings in 2008, the company has performed on both local and international stages and received many awards.
