Part of the Café-causerie — Budding creations! event

Inspired by his time living in Québec, Timothy Gosley takes on the persona of Le Bloke, a master puppeteer who performs his first show in French (Bloke French) with the assistance from his young Quebecer apprentice. The performance culminates with a parallel-universe puppet show from the Legends of Merlin regarding his cosmic incarceration by his Damsel du Lac apprentice in Bretagne’s Forêt de Brocéliande. The show presents an array of puppeteering styles: live video, Muppet, object, humanette, hampelmann variations, and classic table top.

Company

Timothy Gosley is a Gemini Award-winning puppeteer who worked on numerous television series produced by Jim Henson’s the Muppets, CBC, Radio-Canada, Cinar, Cité Amérique and more. His own company, Merlin’s Sun Inc., produced different styles of live puppet shows including Faust thru the Shadows for adults and The Ugly Duckling for families. These shows have been seen across Canada and at various festivals in Europe and Taiwan. Le Bloke de North Hatley is in its early script and production development.
