Puppets love the Grande Bibliothèque!

This year Ragou, the grumpy rat, now a celebrated library assistant, invited a whole bunch of friends to the Espace Jeunes for a very special tour of the exhibition Le livre sens dessus dessous. Some of his friends will break from the pack and poke around the library’s many floors. Expect surprises for all, big and small!

Under the watchful eye of director Marc-André Roy, graduate students in contemporary puppet theatre at UQAM’s École supérieure de théâtre will bring a motley crew of hand puppets to life in a series of solos, duos and trios … and maybe even a hint of improv!

Performers: Flavia Hevia, Kristina Trotske, Cécile Viggiano, Claudine Rivest, Céline Chevrier, Marie-Julie Peters-Desteract, Laurence Petitpas, Geneviève Thibault, Guillaume Ethier, Marc Tissier, Shawan Lesser, Victoria Jehanne, Élise Ducrot, Noémi Bélanger, Marie-Eve Lefebvre-Legault, Judith Guillonneau and Sophie Deslauriers.

RAGOU

Ragou is a character from the Théâtre de l’Œil show Dear Fizzy that premiered in 2002, written by Simon Boudreau. Nicolas Germain-Merchand has been performing Ragou ever since and has become, in a way, his official alter ego!
